And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who sold doves,

I wanted to look this up after it felt like I was forced into giving money to the collections plate at church. It felt wrong. I do not believe that churches should have a reserved time during services to pass around the plate for offerings. I believe offerings should be offerings from the heart not done in impulse. The church kept saying something about 10%, and pay what is owed, or your ties. I couldn’t find anything in the bible about ties but I found this passage. Besides I think paying what is owed and ties whatever doesn’t necessarily mean American money. Next time I might bring a few thank you cards and put them in the collection plate because I do have a couple of thank you’s that are owed.

Really most of this is all new to me, so what do you think, please comment.

Please take the time to pray this morning. Thank God for the week he has given you and ask him to bless you during the weekend.

My week has gone very well. I’ve lost 4 more pounds. Temptations are still there, but through christ all things are possible! I am having some small hunger pains but I know that I am not starving. At times I feel like I better eat a large meal or I may get sick, but that feeling quickly passes. Instead I reach for an apple. The other day I ate a bowl full of lettuce, sounds nasty but I’m trying to train my body to get used to eating less fat and more natural foods. So naturally I didn’t add any dressing. Guess what. The plain lettuce tasted wonderful. Honestly.

Hello world! I am a 27 year old mother of two. After renewing my faith in God, and help through prayer and strong determination. I have crawled through some pretty bad times in my life. Since these trying times I have become a Living Woman. I am happier, stronger, and more than ever before My faith is stronger. I have quit smoking cigarettes after 8 years. I have quit drinking. I have learned to love the small things, and be patient for the big things. I have learned to be a better mother and a more understanding person. I have also learned to put God first before all things. I have learned that yes through Christ all things are possible. I am living proof. That is the reason I am starting this blog called A Prayer Today. It’s pretty much my life. I pray all day everyday about everything. I would like to share with you my journey….
